• Look at all revenues to attract and hire more police officers, offer more recruitment bonuses and better retirement • Increase police presence for all calls, speedier response times • Increase funding for Neighborhood’s 1st and increase police community engagement • Allow Hagerstown to use ShotSpotter technology for rapid deployment in high crime areas of the city • Expand partnerships with youth violence intervention • Propose public safety ordinances to address homelessness and drug addiction • Promote skills based re-entry
Economic Development and Investment
• Attract higher income jobs with allowing data centers to build and relocate to Hagerstown, similar to neighboring counties • Support economic incentives to reuse and repurpose blighted buildings for re-development • Partner with employers and local colleges to recruit local talent to live and work within Hagerstown • Support small businesses by making it easier to open a business in Hagerstown, access to city services and support • Work with regional federal and state officials for aerospace and defense industry opportunities by relocating to Hagerstown from neighboring Loudoun County • Support the future MARC train Brunswick Line expansion, connecting Hagerstown to DC for higher paying jobs
Hagerstown Traffic, Improvements, & Response
• Relook at traffic engineering for one-way streets • Improve potholes, paving, and road construction throughout the city • Propose ordinances for noise issues • Better process 911 calls, hire more dispatchers • Enforce code violations, ordinances already on the books • Improve drainage ditches, water main lines
Hagerstown City Government
• Promote and encourage an environment that is accountable to the taxpayers in every penny spent • Promote transparency throughout the rules process on the City Council • Examine the City’s coffers making sure that all city services are being met, and the city is prepared to address future emergencies • Re-examine city partnerships with local non-profit organizations, and making sure services are being adequately met
